Battery Maintenance
Since your tool includes a lithium-ion battery, proper battery care is essential for extending its lifespan. Here are some strategies to maintain your battery:
1. Avoid Full Discharge
Try to avoid fully discharging the lithium-ion battery. It’s best to charge the battery when it reaches 20%-30%. Full discharge can shorten the battery’s lifespan.
2. Charging Environment
Ensure the battery is charged in a dry, well-ventilated area, avoiding extreme temperatures. The ideal charging temperature is between 10°C and 30°C (50°F to 86°F).
3. Avoid Overcharging
While modern chargers typically stop charging once the battery is full, it’s still best to unplug it once charged. Avoid leaving it plugged in for too long after full charge.
4. Use Regularly
If the battery is not in use for extended periods, charge it about once every 3 months to maintain its activity. Long-term disuse may lead to capacity loss.
5. Store with Moderate Charge
If you need to store the battery for a long period, keep it at around 50% charge. This helps reduce the risks of over-discharge or overcharging and puts less strain on the battery.
6. Avoid Extreme Temperatures for Storage
Storing the battery in very hot or cold conditions can degrade its health. Ensure the battery is stored in a moderate temperature range.
7. Clean Battery Contacts
Periodically check and clean the battery contacts to ensure no dust, dirt, or corrosion affects charging and discharging. Use a dry cloth to clean the contacts—avoid using corrosive cleaning agents.
8. Avoid Shocks and Vibrations
Lithium-ion batteries are sensitive to impacts and vibrations. Handle the battery with care to avoid drops, impacts, or compression.
9. Use the Original Charger
Always use the original charger designed for the battery to ensure safety and optimal charging. Using incompatible or low-quality chargers can damage the battery.
10. Regularly Check Battery Health
If you notice significantly reduced run time or charging issues, it may indicate battery aging or damage. Replacing the battery promptly can prevent unnecessary damage to the tool.
